Monday meeting could bring a replacement for Kent Carper

A special meeting has been scheduled to discuss, among other things, a temporary replacement for Kanawha County Commissioner Kent Carper. The move comes after Carper, who had served on the commission for decades, abruptly stepped down from the position last week. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 20, at the voter’s registration office on Quarrier Street in Charleston, according to a meeting agenda. Carper’s resignation left president Lance Wheeler and Ben Salango as the remaining commissioners.
