New ag lab will help WVSU students

Lawmakers approved a $50 million appropriation for a new agricultural laboratory on the campus of West Virginia State University during a special legislative session. The project was announced during Gov. Jim Justice’s State of the State Address in January, but was not approved until the legislatures came back to Charleston last week in a special session and approved funding for the lab. The state-of the art facility will be shared by WVSU and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture and will allow for the development of agriculture programing along with food and nutrition coursework.
