Road closures are planned for next week’s cycling championships

The USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships will be in the capital city next week, and Charleston officials have released a day-by-day breakdown of planned road closures. Hundreds of bikers will wind their way through city limits from May 14 to May 19 with top finishers qualifying to represent USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Kanawha Boulevard from Capitol Street to Clendenin Street will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 12 and remain closed through May 19. Eastbound traffic will be routed to Clendenin Street and westbound traffic will be routed to Morris Street.
