THe pre-application period for the state’s broadband expansion program has been extended

Gov. Jim Justice announced an extension this week for the pre-application deadline for the Broadband Enhancement Access and Deployment program, along with an additional $1.2 billion in funding. The BEAD program allows applicants to apply for grants to expand broadband infrastructure through the pre-application process until May 30, while the full application process is scheduled for June, according to a news release from the West Virginia Economic Development office. Within a year of approval of an application, a final proposal will be presented by the state to include all unserved and underserved locations in need of a broadband internet connection. There’s more at https://broadband.wv.gov/
