A man from Kanawha County is behind bars accused of shooting and killing his family’s dog. Troopers responded to a home on Simmons Creek Road in Belle on June 7th after receiving a tip about a possible animal cruelty incident that happened on June 6th, according to court documents. Troopers said James Armes told them his son, Nathan Armes, shot the family’s dog and killed it. Armes was arrested booked into the South Central Regional Jail on June 18th. He is charged with one count of animal cruelty.
