Bidding begings for road projects across the state

Transportation officials are accepting bids for two dozen projects across West Virginia, including a partial rebuild of Interstate 77 between Tuppers Creek Road and the Jackson County line. The West Virginia Department of Transportation announced 24 construction project proposals including Jill Micah Hess Memorial Bridge renovations in Boone County, Virginia Street paving in Fayette County, and adding lighting to I-77 interchanges at the Fairplain, Ripley, and Silverton exits in Jackson County. In Kanawha County, state projects will include Capt. Benjamin D. Tiffner Memorial bridge renovations, Gabe’s Creek Bridge renovations, and U.S. 119 paving from Falling Rock to Clendenin. Bids will be compared to DOH engineer estimates before being awarded.
