Charleston City Council voted this week to become compliant with a new state law related to gun sales. The state Legislature passed a law that says gun stores should be treated like any other retail store, so the city council voted to allow gun store sales in places along the Washington Street corridor on the East and West sides. Gun sales were not allowed there before. Cities that don’t comply with the law could be challenged in court.
