FEMA center opens in Putnam County

A Mobile Disaster Recovery Center in Putnam County opened Thursday to help residents who experienced losses in the storms in early April. The state funded center will assist those who were affected by the winds, tornadoes, flooding, landslides and mudslides after a storm ripped through the state on April 2-6. The center at 100 Emergency Lane in Winfield will have experts from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration to help with disaster assistance applications, uploading documents and answering questions. Several other centers have opened throughout the state.
