Herbert Hoover High School principal faces a DUI charge

The principal of Herbert Hoover High School was faces a charge for driving under the influence. Michael Kelley was pulled over on Fort Hill Drive and Cantley Drive in Charleston by police who observed his vehicle “driving at a slow rate of speed, weaving and swerving, and straddling the lane lines,” according to court documents. The complaint said his vehicle also stopped at a red light in the middle of an intersection on U.S. Route 119. Kelley refused to take a breath test and was then taken to the hospital for a blood draw. The toxicology report is pending.
