The West Virginia Parkways Authority is expecting a busy travel period on the West Virginia Turnpike for the Fourth of July. A forecast by the WVPA shows an estimated 1.385 million vehicle transactions are expected on the turnpike over 11 days surrounding the holiday, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation. The busiest days will be Friday, June 28, Saturday, June, 29 and Sunday, July 7. The current fee for tolls in the state is $4.25 or an E-ZPass can be purchased online.
