The family of Jerry West have announced the foundation of several scholarships for West Virginia University. In a social media post by the Los Angeles Clippers, the West family thanked the outpouring of support that they have received since West died on June 12. “The West Family extends our gratefulness for all the love, kindness and wonderful tributes we have received in the week since we lost our beloved Jerry,” the statement said. The post went on to say the family intended to carry on West’s legacy, stating “Jerry’s heart never left West Virginia,” before announcing four scholarships that will be award to West Virginia University, West enjoyed a successful collegiate basketball career.
