Kanawha County disaster assistance center is one of many open across the state

West Virginia residents can apply for more than $1 million in FEMA funding that coming to the state after severe storms in April. FEMA assistance is available to residents of Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Marshall, Nicholas, Ohio, Putnam, Wayne and Wetzel counties. More than $675,000 will help homeowners and renters with home repairs and temporary housing. FEMA has also approved more than $417,000 for things like transportation, childcare, medical costs and dental costs.
