Workzone speeders are being targeted this week on I-64

Law enforcement agencies are cracking down on interstate speeders in a Cabell County work zone this week. Six agencies will be stationed along Interstate 64 between Barboursville and Huntington through Thursday, June 20, according to a news release from the West Virginia Department of Transportation. West Virginia State Police, the Public Service Commission and the Cabell County Sheriff’s Office, along with police from Milton, Barboursville and Huntington will be actively patrolling and issuing citations in the work zone. A similar effort targeting speeders in 2023 resulted in more than 120 traffic stops in a single day.
