Dunlow Fire and EMS has closed and Wayne County looking for a solution

Wayne County officials find the county in a bind with the closing of the Dunlow Fire and EMS. Southern Wayne County is now covered by Mutual aid who is covering the area while Wayne County officials look for a more permanent solution. The Dunlow Volunteer Fire EMS station decided to close after being shut down for the third time by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal. According to the West Virginia State Fire Marshal, a state inspector told the department their equipment and apparatus would not pass inspection. This comes after the same department was shut down for previous violations such as not having valid workers’ compensation coverage and not providing the proper insurance documentation.
