Rubin, the assistant news director and reporter at WCHS-TV, was awarded the Ohio Valley Regional Emmy for Reporter-Specialty Assignment detailing “The Exhumation That Ended a Cold Case Mystery.” The case revolved around the murder of Canadian teenager Sharron Prior in 1975, who was 16 at the time. Rubin’s award-winning coverage detailed the exhumation of suspect Franklin Romine’s grave in Putnam County and the aftermath that followed as the case came to a close. The story has since garnered nearly 250,000 views on YouTube.
