Huntington man arrested for beating up a man and sending him to a hospital

Court records said Quinton Levon Lucas, 28, of Huntington, is accused of beating and robbing another man on Tuesday. Lucas is charged with malicious or unlawful assault and robbery in an incident in the 800 block of Sixth Avenue, according to a criminal complaint filed in Cabell County Magistrate Court. Police said when they responded to they found a man beaten and bleeding. While at the scene, police said Lucas was identified by the victim. Lucas alleged that he fought the man after he was called a derogatory word. Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital and later told investigators it was Lucas who demand he unlock a phone he’d allegedly stolen from him before fleeing before police arrived. Investigators said the victim provided a phone number that matched the stolen phone. Lucas is being held on a $20,000 bond.
