WV Legislators coming back in August for Justice’s child care tax credit bill

Next month lawmakers could be coming back to town for an August special session in West Virginia. On Monday, Governor Jim Justice made his intentions known that he will call the legislature back in the fall and that the focus will be more income tax cuts and childcare fixes. “Please pass my childcare tax credit,” he said addressing lawmakers on Monday. However, childcare advocates like West Virginia Women’s Alliance Executive Director Tiffany Gale, said there must also be an approach to solving it on the provider side too. “We’re put in a position where childcare providers can’t afford any less yet parents can’t afford any more,”
