A West Virginian is headed to the Special Olympics Winter Games in 2025

A West Virginian will be among the 160-member Team USA during the Special Olympics World Winter Games in 2025. Brandon Wilt, a Preston County native, will represent the U.S. – and West Virginia – in the snowshoeing competition during the winter games in Turin, Italy, according to a news release from Special Olympics West Virginia. The winter games will run from March 8-16, 2025. The Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 will see more than 1,500 athletes from 103 countries to compete in eight winter sports: alpine skiing, cross country skiing, DanceSport, figure skating, floorball, snowboarding, snowshoeing and speedskating.
