APCO rate increase put on hold by commission

The West Virginia Public Service Commission filed an order on Thursday for Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power Companies to provide more information related to a rate increase request.The PSC said it was suspending the rate increase until the commission finishes its investigation of the utilities’ request. Some the utility companies’ customers took to the streets and said that they were already struggling to find money to pay their bills with dozens from the West Virginia Citizen Action Group making their way to downtown Charleston to protest the increasing cost for electricity.
