A Charleston man is charged with felony malicious wounding after police said he shot a neighbor during a fight. Police were called to a home along Woodbine Avenue about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to a criminal complaint, Charles Samuel Myers was seen in an verbal argument with his neighbor, Melvin Carpenter, by multiple witnesses.Myers allegedly shot Carpenter in the stomach and arm, according to investigators. Responding officers said they found Myers in his driveway and a shotgun in the bed of his nearby truck. The condition of the victim was not immediately available. Myers is being held on a $100,000 bond at Southern Central Regional Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 14.
