High-speed chase suspect enters plea

A man accused of leading police on a multi-county pursuit earlier this year appeared in a Kanawha County court on Monday. Dakota Lee Neff pleaded not guilty to fleeing, obstruction and possession of a stolen vehicle in a February chase that started in Cabell County and ended in Kanawha. Neff is accused of reaching speeds near 100 mph in a stolen vehicle in a chase that spanned Cabell and Putnam counties. Deputies in Kanawha County eventually used spike strips to disable the vehicle, but Neff is accused of continuing to drive on deflated tires until he crashed near Industrial Drive in South Charleston. A trial date in the case is scheduled for Oct. 7.
