The Justice family announced Thursday that it has reached an agreement to avoid the sale of the Greenbrier. The Greenbrier Hotel Corp., owned and operated by Gov. Jim Justice’s family, has a specified amount that will be paid in full to Beltway Capital by Oct. 24. The statement said the Justice family has already secured the funding for the payment, but Beltway reserves its rights if the payment isn’t made. This comes after the Greenbrier was listed for public auction earlier this month following the default of a loan originally for $142 million from JPMorgan. That loan was sold to Beltway who then declared it default. The Justice family alleged the move was a “political stunt.”
