K9 helps officers with a major drug bust

Two men have been charged after a traffic stop in Logan County led law enforcement to a Chapmanville home where they said a significant amount of drugs were found. Franklin Maynard and Mark Workman face charges, according to West Virginia State Police. The charges stem from a traffic stop on Mud Fork Road in Logan County on Friday where troopers said a K-9 smelled drugs. A search of the vehicle found about 15 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 15 grams of suspected fentanyl and a large amount of cash. A search warrant was executed at a Chapmanville home where more drugs were found and a firearm was seized. Troopers said the drugs seized have an estimated street value of about $200,000. The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information should contact state police.
