Man accused of shooting near Shawnee Sports Complex has bond increased

The man accused of firing shots near the Shawnee Sports Complex in May of this year has had his bond increased. Zion Clark appeared before Circuit Judge Maryclaire Akers in Kanawha County Circuit Court this week and she increased the bond because it was improper in the first place. Lawyers say Clark was improperly released in December 2023 due to a misunderstanding about two $10,000 surety bonds. He was out of jail on that improper bond when he was arrested in connection with the shooting incident at Shawnee Sports Complex in May. Two other men also face charges. The new bond is cash-only, $150,000.
