Man faces arson charges for allegedly setting vehicles on fire

A man accused of setting two vehicles on fire at a home in Charleston has been charged with third-degree arson. 38-year old Derek Kiser of Charleston was seen on surveillance video approaching a home on Falcon Drive and the residents saw the man “pouring an unknown liquid from a gallon jug onto their vehicles” before lighting a fire, according to the criminal complaint. The man fled on a bicycle before being apprehended by deputies along Edens Fork Road. Kiser is being housed at South Central Regional Jail.
