New trail system is planned for Cacapon Resort State Park

West Virginia State Parks announced a major trail expansion project is in the works for the Eastern Panhandle. The $3.5 million investment will bring 35 miles of mountain bike trails to Cacapon Resort State Park over the next three years, according to a news release from West Virginia Department of Commerce. Aside from blazing new trails, contractors will bring bike amenities and a fresh focus on youth cycling to the resort in order to attract riders from across the region .Greenstone Trailcraft has been tasked with leading the project, which is expected to roll across the finish line sometime in 2026.
