Police ask for tips in Cabell County hit-and-run

Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a crash that injured a pedestrian and closed eastbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Cabell County for several hours early Tuesday. The crash was reported about 5:45 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Exit 15 and initially involved a tractor-trailer and another vehicle, according to a news release from the Barboursville Police Department. Officers said the driver of the tractor-trailer was walking back to the other vehicle to check on that driver when the person was struck by a white Chevrolet Silverado traveling eastbound. The driver of the Silverado is accused of leaving the scene. Police said the vehicle should be missing a side mirror. Anyone with information about the Silverado or its driver is asked to call the Barboursville Police Department. The tractor-trailer driver was taken to a local hospital.
