A domestic violence emergency protective order has been filed against Raleigh County’s prosecuting attorney. 39-year old Benjamin Hatfield of Beaver is accused of domestic violence against a woman who identified herself as a “sexual partner” in the petition that was filed Tuesday in Raleigh County. The order, signed by Family Court Judge Harley Stollings, indicated that an initial petition seeking a domestic violence protective order was denied. As part of the order, Hatfield has been ordered to surrender any and all firearms and ammunition he possesses or owns to the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department or a neutral third party. A final hearing is set for today (Wednesday).
