This year’s Charleston Sternwheel Regatta had a major economic impact

Nearly a quarter of a million people attended the 2024 Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, generating $38.8 million. The Charleston Convention and Visitors Bureau announced this week that the annual festival attracted an estimated 235,000 attendees, with a fifth of them traveling from more than fifty miles away. The event supported an estimated 9,729 jobs in its third year since the event returned to the riverfront in 2022. The city also announced that the 2025 event will be held July 3-6.
