The West Virginia University will have walk-through metal detectors at its major athletic venues this fall. The new additions expand on the University’s campus safety procedures and will be used at Aug. 31 football home opener against Penn State. Vice President Wren Baker said “Fan safety is paramount. Walk-through metal detectors are an important addition to our events as major college facilities have had great success with this safety enhancement. With a sellout crowd and a FOX national broadcast for the home opener, fans should arrive early to get used to the new system and expedite entry to the game. WVU’s clear bag policy is still in effect and additional game-day information updated weekly on WVUSports.com.
