The St. Albans Library closed after discovering asbestos underneath floor tiles by the main desks and stairway. Asbestos removal will take some time, so they’ll reopen in phases. The first floor will open again on Sept. 23, and then the library will fully reopen in early October. Return deadlines will be extended while the library is closed. The St. Albans Mobile Library will be parked next to the building again on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
