Fall foliage is starting to appear in higher elevations

Tourism officials have issued the first fall foliage report of 2024 as autumn colors reach the higher elevations of West Virginia. Peak colors have reached the northeastern portion of the state, including Tucker and Pocahontas counties. Routes 32 and 33 from Blackwater Falls to Seneca Rocks, along with the Greenbrier River Trail, offers motorists and cyclists a scenic view. Additional highlights includes the boardwalks of the Dolly Sides Wilderness and observation platform of Spruce Knob, the Mountain State’s highest point.
