Crews responded to a fire at Friendly Faces Daycare in the 1200 block of Fledderjohn Road off Corridor G, according to Metro 911. According to officials no children had arrived and only two employees were inside at the time and got out safely. The employees said they noticed a haziness in the building and called 911. Charleston firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation. Schoenbaum Center CEO Tim Morris said they are temporarily taking in kids affected by the fire. Staff from the daycare can also temporarily work at the center. Morris said they will be taking kids up to three years old beginning Tuesday. Parents who are interested can call the Schoenbaum Center to get their children enrolled.
