The West Virginia Department of Tourism has released a fall foliage forecast for 2024, providing an opportunity to see the Mountain State’s ridgelines change from the greens of summer into the warm colors of autumn. First, West Virginia’s Mountain Lakes Region and areas up to the Mason-Dixon Line are expected to see peak fall foliage from the end of September into early October. The Potomac Highlands are expected to see the change in early October, followed by the Mid-Ohio and Greenbrier valleys by mid-October. Leaf peeping will come to a close in the Metro Valley, the Northern and Eastern panhandles and the southwestern portion of the state from mid-October into early November.
