One man faces charges after shots are fired near a Charleston home

A man is accused of firing shots near a Kanawha County home Monday following an altercation that involved a damaged vehicle. Paul Chapman of Charleston, has been charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. The complaint said Chapman is accused of firing “several rounds from a handgun at unknown fleeing individuals” following a confrontation in the 5000 block of Kanawha Avenue. nvestigators said surveillance footage was used to identify Chapman. Chapman is being housed at South Central Regional Jail on a $1,500 bail.
