A state of emergency was declared on Friday for several counties in Kentucky after the remnants of Hurricane Helene brought strong winds and torrential rain to the region. Gov. Andy Beshear announced the state of emergency for several places, primarily in eastern Kentucky. The Counties under the declaration include Bayd, Breathitt, Clark, Clay, Lee, Letcher, Magoffin and Wolfe and the cities include Ashland, Catlettsburg, Clay City and Winchester, according to a post by Beshear.
