Kanawha County officials confirmed Friday two students – one from Sissonville Middle School and another at Dupont Middle School – will be charged after being accused of making terroristic threats. False 911 calls were made, leading to an investigation, according to Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney Debra Rusnak. The accused are minors, so their names will not be released. Officials have asked social media threats be reported to law enforcement rather than forwarded to personal acquaintances. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their children’s social media presence. Rusnak said terroristic threats carry a penalty of one-to-three years in prison and up to a $25,000 fine.
