University of Charles has their annual “Labor of Love” on Labor Day

Each year during the Labor Day weekend as part of the institution’s “Labor of Love” event, University of Charleston students give back to the community, completing dozens of community service projects ranging from landscaping, meal preparation and beautification projects around Charleston. Some of the locations are the Ronald McDonald House, the Charleston YWCA, Spring Hill Cemetery, CAMC Hospitality House, Campbell’s Creek Park and Ruth Lawn Elementary School. among others. More than 1,000 Golden Eagles participated in last year’s Labor of Love, completing nearly 50 service projects in the area. The annual effort supports part of UC’s mission in educating students for a life of productive work, enlightened living and community service.
