Child care tax credit to be addressed in this special session

Gov. Jim Justice wants lawmakers to pass a proposed child care tax credit in a special session that resumes Sunday. The proposal would allow parents to claim a portion of what they pay for child care as a credit against their state income tax. Estimates show it could cost the state around $4 million per year. The measure would be retroactive allowing eligible families to claim the credit when they submit their state tax return early next year.
