Huntington couple to face child neglect charges over unsanitary living conditions

A Huntington couple face child neglect charges after their 3-year-old child was found by strangers wandering the streets early Wednesday morning and their house on 16th Street was discovered to be in unsanitary conditions. Jeffrey Jenkins and Jennifer Jenkins were taken into custody after police responded after a group of people found a 3-year old child wandering around without parents. Officers performed a welfare check and found three other juveniles in the apartment living in poor conditions. Both Jeffrey and Jennifer Jenkins were charged with four counts of child neglect creating risk of injury and were taken to Western Regional Jail.
