West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, a popular two-term Republican, is preparing to transition to his new role as the state’s U.S. senator, having won a decisive victory during the November general election. As he prepares himself for Washington, Justice has already begun discussions with various sitting senators and President-elect Donald Trump, aiming to “get up to speed quickly” and “produce results” for West Virginia. Expressing a commitment to collaboration across party lines, Justice emphasized while he holds firmly conservative values, his primary focus is to advance policies for the betterment of both West Virginia and the nation. “I’ve said over and over that I don’t really care if you’re a Republican or a Democrat,” he said. “I’ve got my values and they’re as conservative as they could be, but at the end of the day, I want goodness for America; I want goodness for West Virginia.”
