A woman is arrested after a fatal hit-and-run

A woman was arrested following a hit-and-run that killed one and injured another in Kanawha County Friday evening. The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. along the 2000 block of Witcher Creek Road when a red SUV struck the two pedestrians and fled the scene, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies located the suspect, 33-year old Kiesha Miller of Belle about 30 minutes later on Witcher Creek Road. Authorities determined that Miller was driving under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.
One victim was a 31-year-old male who sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene while the other victim, Becky Lynn Martin of Belle was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center where she later died of her injuries, according to deputies.
