A longstanding Kanawha City grocery market has been torn down. The Charleston Gazette-Mail reported that the Risk Fas-Chek was demolished after standing there for 99 years. The grocery store operated as Risk Supermarket and Risk Key Market before becoming the Fas-Chek in the 1980s. The store closed in June 2022 after operating for more than 50 years. Two homes on nearby lots that the Risk family owned were also torn down. The 28,000 square foot property is now for sale for $1.2 million.
