The West Virginia Supreme Court granted expedited relief Friday afternoon to the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission, moving the case of the state high school playoffs one step closer to resolution. The order calls for a response by counsel in the Mason and Wood County cases by noon today (Monday, Nov. 18). Once that deadline passes the high court will then consider the cases. Class AAA play-in games originally scheduled for Saturday were canceled, according to the WVSSAC. A Class A play-in game between Tolsia and St. Marys is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday night at Herbert Hoover. Injunctions were filed last week over the classification system that the WVSSAC used to determine rankings and playoff seedings.
