New grocery store sets a grand opening for Thursday

A grocery store in Charleston’s West Side is set to open this week following months of renovations. Miss Ruby’s Corner Market, located at 739 Central Avenue, has set a grand opening for Thursday, Nov. 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a social media post from the Keep Your Faith Corporation. The KYFC has selected the location as a base for social programming after Charleston police shut down the former Park Place Bar, which generated hundreds of service calls. The turnaround was partially funded by American Rescue plan money provided by the city.
