A more than $600,000 water line project is underway in South Charleston. The West Virginia American Water project will replace 1,800 feet of aging water main along Indiana Street. The cost of the project is projected to be $615,000. Construction will take place along Indiana Street from East Avenue to Maple Street and along the side streets of Pine, Beech and Birch from Indiana Street to Florida Street, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Traffic restrictions will be in place during construction. A news release said the company expects to complete the water main replacement project and connect all customer service lines to the new main by the end of December with final street restoration completed in spring 2025.
