Most of the Capital Connector project covers more than 3 miles from Magic Island on the West Side to the 35th Street Bridge along Kanawha Boulevard. City leaders have involved the public in the design process, with public meetings to gather input. The project also aims to give pedestrians an easier time getting across three bridges and connect Kanawha Boulevard to the Capitol Complex. More than $25 million in grants are helping to fund the project. Construction will begin next summer.
