Gov Justice will stay in office until Jan 13

Jim Justice announced plans Thursday to complete his term as governor before moving on to represent West Virginia in the U.S. Senate. The decision will keep Justice at his current post until Jan. 13 when Patrick Morrisey is sworn in. “I believe this with all my soul. The people of West Virginia elected me to this office, and they expected me to do right by them always. I’ve tried to do that and I think that I’m doing right by them right now,” Justice said during an administration briefing. The governor said he’s been in communication with fellow Republican Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and president-elect Donald Trump to discuss the transition.
