K9 helps find a Randolph County suspect in an attic

A man has added multiple charges to his rap sheet after he escaped from court Wednesday, where he was facing a firearm charge, and hid in nearby attics until K-9 tracked him down. Eyewitness News reported 39-year old Steven Clemens was arrested after a warrant was issued for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm. Randolph County Sheriff’s Office deputies said that after being taken to the Randolph County Magistrate Court, Clemens fled and broke into a nearby house along Davis Street in Elkins. Authorities tracked him down with the help of K9 deputy Twix. Clemens now faces three additional charges including two counts of felony burglary and one count of felony escape from custody, in addition to his felony firearm charge.
