Kanawha County Deputies released a statement this week regarding a person who was reported missing 14 years ago, asking for new tips. Samuel Richard “Dickie” Riser, of Glasgow went missing in December 2010, at the age of 60. Detectives began investigating the case after Riser failed to appear for work for several days, leading to Riser’s landlord going to check on him at his home on the 300 block of Third Avenue. Detectives found the lights and television on inside Riser’s home and evidence of an altercation, including traces of blood. Deputies don’t believe Riser was involved in any illegal activities and suspect this crime was motivated by a personal motives.
